NEWS: |PWT via PWM| It’s been rumored for some time that RVD may leave WWE because he’s been increasingly unhappy in the company. However, Shane McMahon supposedly wants RVD re-signed. JR has also said the ball is in RVD’s court when it comes to staying with the company. It’s now being reported that talks between the two on re-signing have been going well.

As of now, RVD may very well stay in WWE because WWE can offer him more money, more merchandise royalties and the Hall of Fame. No other company can match this. Furthermore, RVD wants to take a year off to re-charge his battery, something WWE is willing to do. RVD’s contract is over at the end of the summer so sooner or later we’ll find out whether he’s staying or going.

April 28th, 2007: RVD Rejects WWE’s Latest Proposal

I wanted RVD to leave WWE for TNA, but it may not happen now. In the end, all I want is to see RVD wrestling on TV. I still want him in TNA because I think he would be huge, but not seeing him at all is even worse.

NEWS: |WWE| The following results are from the WWE homepage…

-Ken Kennedy won the Money in the Bank match. This means Kennedy has a guaranteed title shot (at any WWE title) between now and WrestleMania 24. He can choose to cash it in whenever he wants.
-Khali beat Kane.
-Melina beat Ashley to retain the Women’s Title.
-Chris Benoit beat MVP to retain the United States Championship.
-ECW Originals RVD, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer & Sandman beat The New Breed Kevin Thorn, Marcus Cor Von, Elijah Burke & Matt Striker.
-Bobby Lashley beat Umaga which resulted in Vince McMahon having his head shaved bald.
-The Undertaker beat Batista to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
-John Cena beat Shawn Michaels by making him tap via the STFU.
-

As usual your comments are always welcome. In fact, they’re mandatory dammit.

Some of the surprises for me were The Originals winning and Melina winning. If you check out WWE’s homepage, they have RVD & Dreamer celebrating with their hands in the air. But the picture does not show Sandman nor Sabu. Does this confirm that Sandman and Sabu will be let go? It’s been rumored to occur after WM23.

Khali winning isn’t really surprising. What’s surprising is that WWE would even put this piss poor feud on WrestleMania to begin with. Kennedy winning isn’t really a surprise either, but I think it’s safe to say that Orton wasn’t going to win due to this steroid scandal, The Hardyz were never going to win, Punk wasn’t going to win and Finlay wasn’t going to win. So that leaves Booker, Edge and Kennedy who were all viable options.

Undertaker winning wasn’t a surprise either, but I definitely did not want Batista beating him. Lashley winning wasn’t surprising either, we all knew he was going to win before the feud even started.

And finally, Cena winning is complete crap. You’re telling me John Cena makes Shawn Michaels tap out with the STFU? Cena is no submission specialist at all, yet he somehow makes Shawn Michaels tap out with that move? That is the biggest pile of crap I’ve ever read. It’s not believable and, in my opinion, disrespectful to Shawn Michaels. I know I’m speaking out of emotion here, but I cannot believe WWE would script an ending like this. I’m sure the match was good. I’m sure they both put on a hell of a show, but the ending is all wrong and it just makes me mad. The writers are just stupid sometimes and so is Vince. Cena should not win the title and he should not go over HBK at WrestleMania. And go over HBK with a submission move instead of the FU. Bull F’N S@%#!

“There were lots of emails this past week about RVD. I look at RVD as being one of the cornerstones of the new ECW. Rob is a talented and unique performer, obviously. I know Rob has done well financially in the WWE and has earned every penny of his cash. I hope Rob has a long productive future with the WWE but in the end that will be Rob’s call.”

So basically what JR is saying is WWE wants to keep RVD, but they cannot make him sign a new contract when it expires next year. Or to put it another way, we don’t want you to go to TNA, but we can’t force you to stay.

Should RVD plays TNA and WWE off each other to get the best deal? I don’t even think that’s an issue because I don’t think RVD is all about the money. He should go to a company that appreciates him and what he has to offer. That could be TNA or it might be WWE in the year 2007.

His contract is up in 2007 and he may not re-sign. RVD has been reported to be miserable in the new ECW and Paul Heyman’s absence is making things much worse. Also, RVD thinks Vince is still punishing him for being arrested and thus will not get another serious push. If he does not stay in WWE, RVD’s next stop could possibly be TNA.

RVD could easily carry any brand. He could carry RAW, he could carry Smackdown and he can definitely carry ECW. And though his drug arrest was stupid, it has not affected his work and he still gives 110% every night. A guy like that should get the top spot. Plus, the fans are behind him and love him.

RVD is in a good situation because TNA would take him any day of the week. WWE would be stupid to let him go and this could all work out in RVD’s favor. I love seeing RVD wrestle in WWE, but if Vince doesn’t wanna make him a top guy again, then he should leave for TNA.

NEWS: |WWE| On the last episode of ECW (10.24.06), RVD beat Big Show to win a World Title contract. It was recently announced that RVD will get his title shot against Show’s ECW Title at the December to Dismember PPV. Not only that, the World Title Match will be an Extreme Elimination Chamber Match. The four remaining participants will be decided over the next few weeks in qualifying matches.

November 7th, 2006: CM Punk Qualifies for the Extreme Elimination Chamber

An Extreme Elimination Chamber match, nice idea. I like it a lot. WWE needs this first ECW PPV to be a hit and I hope it is too. If this means the next few weeks of ECW will be toned down to protect their wrestlers then I’m all for it. Order the PPV and make December to Dismember a success.

NEWS: |WWE WE via PWInsider| The punishment for RVD & Sabu’s arrest have been announced: RVD is suspended for a month without pay and Sabu will be fined $1,000.

In terms of their position backstage, Vince & WWE are not particulary angry at the two and no one will be fired. Both RVD and Sabu will still be pushed and both men are taking the punishment well.

Well that’s still good news. I guess we can only hope for the best in a situation like this and looks like we got it. Since WWE isn’t mad at the two, I’m guessing the suspension and fines are just formalities.

The reason Sabu & RVD are taking it well is because they were high while receiving their punishment (supposedly).
