NEWS: |T| Jeff Hardy was denied his flight to North Carolina because airline crew believed he was intoxicated. Many websites have been reporting a so-called major “incident” involved Hardy. But the airline says Hardy was completely cooperative and the police were not needed.
It doesn’t matter whether the police were called or not because Hardy will be under a microscope for a long time. Hardy is a great performer, but he keeps messing up while other wrestlers work hard and do not get the same break. Hardy has paid his dues, but is that any excuse to keep getting in trouble?
This incident wasn’t a big deal, but I’m sure WWE sees it another way. Or maybe Hardy is immune because he sells merchandise. Isn’t that how WWE works? If you sell merchandise than stay on the top.

I heard Kane’s stuff sells well, but I don’t see any world title pushes for him, plus he never gets into trouble. And if Hardy does fail another drug test I bet he won’t get fired either. Or if he does he’ll be back soon.
I think Hardy would be fired too just because a lot of people are watching WWE now a days. Not sure about a Kane title run. A few months ago I would say it’s not going to happen. But within these past few months WWE has changed up their formula and make things a lot more exciting. Right now I wouldn’t surprised if WWE put the title on Kane (but who knows).
I bet he’d be rehired within long though, wasn’t Regal fired for drugs? Or was that just suspension.
I highly doubt they would put the belt on Kane. They didn’t when he was at his peak in 2000-2002, the last biggest chance I think he’s had was that feud with HHH, with the horrible angle, but that was when WWE was still obssessed with HHH.
Ageed, WWE would find every way to not fire him. And if they did, they would hire him back after rehab/treatment.
I’m sure glad WWE’s right on with their health and wellness program, here’s citing an example from http://corporate.wwe.com
5. ALCOHOL ABUSE
The use and/or abuse of alcohol in such a fashion so as to impair the ability to perform is prohibited by this Policy. Talent are expected to be free of the influence of alcohol when performing for WWE. Accordingly, the use of alcohol at any time twelve hours prior to any scheduled performance is prohibited by this Policy.
Testing for alcohol use or abuse in violation of this Policy shall be for reasonable cause only as defined in Section 7A.
The initial positive test for use and/or abuse of alcohol in violation of this Policy will be treated as a medical issue requiring evaluation for alcohol rehabilitation treatment. All subsequent positive tests for alcohol-related violations of this Policy shall be treated as disciplinary matters in accordance with this Policy.
Interesting. It seems like there’s room for interpretation though because of “alcohol-related” in that policy. Whoever is investigating coud easily say “this event was not alcohol-related and does not violate policy.”
But either way, all of this is to benefit someone’s health. I think WWE should also give wrestlers more time off to re-coop instead of them relying on drugs to make it through the day.
Kind of like not have as many shows a week? I know they have downsized it quite a bit from the WWF days, but it’s still pretty crammed.
