Something has really been bothering me and that’s the way WWE has handled the returns of three big names. I’m talking about Chris Jericho, JBL and Big Show.
I wonder if WWE puts any planning at all into the follow through. For months we had the build up of the return of Y2J. Even though everyone knew Jericho was coming, fans were still excited. And Jericho came back and everything was good for the first month. Then Orton beats Jericho thanks to another returning name and that was JBL. JBL and Jericho feud and have an awful Royal Rumble match. Then they’re put into the Elimination Chamber and that’s the end of everything. And look where we are now. JBL is helping in Vince’s own angle (which is a demotion in my opinion) and Jericho is off doing his own thing. It’s only been a few months later and look where things are between these two? It sucks. It absolutely sucks. These two guys came in and could have really shaken things up. And they did for about a month and now look where we are. Does WWE have any long-term plans ever? Now we’re back to HHH, Orton and Cena. It’s almost the same place we were at before these three guys returned.
Big Show is a different story. He just returned and is now in a feud with a boxer. This is nothing more than a business move if anything. It’s basically a “ratings grabber” wrapped in a storyline. Considering Big Show’s size, his recent return and the press this will get, I can say this is a good move by WWE. However, I’m not interested at all. But still, I can understand what they’re doing and don’t mind it too much. But again, where will we be after this? Will Show be feuding with Shannon Moore? Will he be feuding with Deuce and/or Domino? Who knows. But my point is I bet you WWE don’t have long-term plans for him after Mania. I bet you they don’t know what to do with Jericho or JBL either.
My personal belief is that WWE dropped the ball on the returns of Jericho and JBL. These guys are basically doing nothing now and WWE just squandered an opportunity of the return of these two. There could have been a lot better angles done or at least something better than where they are now.
To characterize WWE’s methods of planning, I’ll go back to Jericho: WWE used a creative and exciting promotion to build up the return of Y2J. They put time and effort on TV and into viral marketing on the internet. And after he came back all that creativity, time and unique ideas were gone and now look where Jericho is…nowhere.
It’s premature ejaculation.

I’ve been thinking the same thing…
For Jericho, I wasn’t really that surprised about in the first place because I knew WWE wasn’t going to give him the title and his whole “Save Us” gimmick was complete and utter garbage. “Save Us” from Orton? Are you kidding me? Orton’s Championship reign is a complete fluke that no one cares about and you’re going to have Jericho base his whole return on beating him? Please, and after that he’s with JBL with so little build up it’s crazy. “OMG Jericho bumps into JBL at Armageddon” and JBL screws him out of the WWE Championship match that everyone who knows about wrestling wanted him to win? That’s the laziest way I’ve ever seen a “major” feud gotten started. WWE made Jericho’s return such a “big” deal taunting fans for months and after his match with Orton, nobody cares.
So JBL finally returns to wrestling when Jericho bumps into him at the announce table. What the heck is that? No one really cared about JBL in the first place because of his annoying-ass reigns as champion on Smackdown and he’s not that good in the ring anymore. Although his return was ridiculous, WWE actually made it look like JBL was gonna actually be an asset coming back to the active roster, but just like Jericho, nobody cares.
Big Show just came back, AND HE’S ALREADY IN A BORING ASS FEUD. No build up, and he’s facing some boxer that I don’t even care enough about to type his name and your not going to hear anything about him after Wrestlemania just like Trump. Same with the whole “Sumo Match” at WM21, why does WWE put Big Show in these dumbass matches at Mania? Last time we saw him he was the champion on ECW and he was a damn good heel champion that made ECW a good if not decent show every week even if he had questionable matches with no build up (well, that was when ECW still had a lot of the Originals which helped make the show better also), now he’s on Smackdown, or RAW, or whatever because WWE rosters are meaningless nowadays, and he’s feuding with a boxer who doesn’t even know what he’s doing. Retarded…
My guess is that WWE is going to do with Jericho and JBL what they do with all of their other superstars that deserve more, and that is put them in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match at Wrestlemania. That is, if they don’t face eachother at Mania and nobodies gonna care about that either. Also, we all know Jeff Hardy’s going to with MITB this year anyway when he should’ve been champion months ago.
-DarkYasha- I don’t think Jericho, JBL or Show should defeat Orton and become champions, but anything is better than what they’re doing now. Show’s not a big deal for me, but he will be after Mania because I think WWE won’t advantage of his return. The best scenario I can see for him is a feud with Taker for the title on Smackdown. But then again, Show would most likely lose to Taker because this is supposed to be Taker’s first real title reign. That will make Show look kind of weak. However losing to the Undertaker isn’t all that bad, but maybe Show should defeat a few people and then challenge Taker. (this is all guessing by me)
But Jericho & JBL have not been good at all and I really feel sorry for Jericho. WWE and Jericho negotiate for weeks-months and now look at him. After all that work to get him back, he’s not even in a solid feud with anyone.
