SummerSlam (08.26.07) — All Three Champions Retain Title, Hardy Brings Out his Substition and Beth Phoenix Wins Battle Royal

NEWS: SummerSlam just wrapped up, here are the quick results…

-Kane beat Finlay
-Umaga beat Ken Kennedy and Carlito to retain the IC Title
-Rey Mysterio beat Chavo Guerrero
-Beth Phoenix won the Battle Royal to become the #1 Contender for the Women’s Title
-MVP interrupted Phoenix’s celebration. Matt Hardy came out and introduced Stone Cold and Austin stunned MVP.
-John Morrison beat CM Punk to retain the ECW Title
-HHH beat King Booker
-Batista beat The Great Khali by DQ which means Khali is still the Heavyweight Champion
-John Cena beat Randy Orton to retain the WWE Championship

After reading the results it looked like SummerSlam sucked.

Morrison/Punk didn’t even go 10 minutes. Can you believe that? These guys have been putting some great matches on ECW. But when it comes to SummerSlam, they don’t even go 10 minutes? It’s a shame and bad booking.

HHH went over King Booker. I was hoping for a DQ of something, but it is HHH’s big return so I can’t be too mad about it.

And the biggest disappointment of the night, Cena retained the title. You can’t see my face right now, but if you could then you would see tears and big puppy dog eyes. But then I would put my dog on the floor and you would see how mad I am. I’m not surprised that Cena won considering how management absolutely loves him and thinks the world of him, but wrestling is not interesting when the same guy wins all the time. In fact, it’s boring and gives people little reason to buy PPV’s are become interested in angles when you know the end result. And so far the end result is John Cena retaining the title. Man am I upset. My dog is sad (for some reason), but I’m not happy at all.

i didn’t see summerslam and from what i’ve heard i didn’t miss anything. well john cena still the champ! could the wwe try any harder to shove him down our throats. have they ever tried this hard to get fans to cheer someone. cena made a much better heel, so give him back is additude and that chain he used to carry.

-crazy- Not looking forward to RAW at all tonight. Seeing HHH again is fine with me because I’m hoping he’ll continue the feud with Booker. But seeing Cena is not why I watch RAW and it hasn’t been for a very long time. I’m expecting a rematch between him and Orton though. Or maybe a continuation of their storyline.

maybe if we’re really lucky, the wwe is saving the title change for raw.

one thing i’ve been wondering is edge really hurt? or are the trying to turn him as a face. i’d love them to bring him back to face khali. a ladder match for the title. i think that could be interesting
