Not a time to judge

I hope Chris Benoit found the peace he so desperately needed. There is no single explanation for suicide, except that person could no longer cope.I pray that the public put aside their anger and lend support to the surviving family members and friends. As a survivor of family suicide, I found understanding without judgement through Survivors of Suicide. http://www.survivorsofsuicide.com/ there are chapters nationwide.

I wish Benoit eternal rest. You say this isnt a time to judge, and it isnt, because he had his reasons. But it does not excuse him for what he did. Im a big Benoit fan, I have his autograph and everything. But seeing that this happened, I cant help but speculate and put in my two cents. I dont know what happened- maybe know one ever will, but I cant leave it alone and brush it off. He will be remembered, hopefully (by the fans) as WWE’s hardest worker. But in reality, many will see him as a murderer. Also, it is revealed that Benoits text message to Chavo was:

“The slide doors were opened and the dogs have been fed.”
Im paraphrasing, but thats basically what he said. I hope this means that he did not do it. I wont be able to shrug off the knowledge of wether Benoit did it or not. All I know is that this is WWE’s biggest devestation.

Forget what I said about the text message. This is what WWE says:

i think we need to give our support to the Benoit family, rather than judge. it was terrible, but lets not make it worse, by giving our own opinions. You know what good would they make right now?, so lets just keep the family in our prayers & hope this never happens again.

About steroid rage, I doubt that. Steroids and testosterone can both fuel aggression but there are much bigger factors. Having a special needs child would strain any marriage, as would working together in the same industry and having recurrent health problems. Fragile X syndrome does not merely make a child “slow”, they require a lifetime of care.

No one realizes the mental weight on the family left behind. They have triple funerals, all sudden and violent deaths. They didn’t get to say goodbye and they don’t have the luxury of grieving in private.

Many people around Benoit probably tried to help but with all that going on, I doubt he was rational. He leaves haunting questions that may never be answered. I hope the wrestling community can gather strength together and find a way to heal.

There are proper ways to memorialize those who commit suicide, hundreds are on the memorial page at

it wasnt roid rage because it was planned out methodically, the way he killed them over a period of days and placed a bible by them, it wasnt spur of the moment.

You don’t really know that it wasn’t a spur of the moment thing though. I mean they make it look that way with the bibles and his wife being tied and what not but still if you think about it he gets home and argues with his wife over their son so he gets angry and decides life would be easier without him and in the spur of the moment and because of his anger he smothers him. His wife goes to call the cops and then he’s stuck he doesn’t want to go to jail so he ties her up while he thinks. The next day he decides that the only way out is to kill his wife and commit suicide (which is not a rational thought) so he strangles his wife. He then places the bibles next to their bodies as he is still a christian and wants them to go to heaven he prays for them and himself and then he sends his text messages and hangs himself. None of this is based on anything but I’m just trying to get across that just because something looks planned out and thorough doesn’t mean it started out that way.
In a side note I found it interesting how benoit put that his physical address was… in his text messages this leads me to believe that he still believed that he and his family were going to an afterlife when they died.
Lastly my condolences to both the benoit family and his wife’s family.
