The Smartest Man in Wrestling

NEWS: |WWE| Last night at the Smackdown tapings, Undertaker and Batista battled in a Steel Cage match. The match ended in a draw when both men reached the floor at the same time, but Edge cashed in his newly acquired Money in the Bank contract to become the new Heavyweight Champion just as he did to win the WWE Championship at New Year’s Revolution.

May 28th, 2007: Edge to Have A Long Run
May 14th, 2007: Kennedy Supposed to Win Title, Not Edge

It’s like New Year’s Revolution all over again. I’m happy Edge is champion. He definitely deserves it in my opinion. But I’m also thinking some people don’t want him to be champ, which is cool with me. Pretty interesting that WWE has this occur at a taping, but given the circumstances of Kennedy’s injury & Taker’s injury, something had to be done to resolve the Heavyweight Title situation. Good idea, and I’m definitely gonna watch Smackdown this Friday to see it.

You called it perfectly BrettS.

Wow!! top booking by the WWE I really thought that Smackdown was going to go to shit with it’s top face and heel getting long term injuries within 10 days of each other, but the booking team may have saved the day at least for now. I thought that they would simply give the strap to Batista and have the Henry/Batista fued dominate the summer on Smackdown and send the show down the shitter but now Edge has the strap we will get fresh fueds and a long awaited heel title run. Think of the possible fueds Benoit (great wrestling matches),Batista (a “money” fued that doesn’t excite me that much but is definatley fresh), Hardy (could push him to main event level and would re-egnite a fued with real heat).

It even opens up long term possibilities as if they leave Edge have a long run he could fued with both a newly turned face Kennedy (you’ve got to presume that he will be brought back as a face due to the incresing popularity and Kennedy chants as well as the rather “faceish” way he lost the MITB) and a returning Undertaker.

Very inventive from the WWE this Friday’s Smackdown could go down as one of the greatest of all time.

-Mr Happy- I feel the same way about this entire thing. It’s very unfortunate that Kennedy & Taker have serious injuries, but WWE has handled it well and turned it into something exciting. Edge on Smackdown definitely makes the show more interesting to watch. I can’t wait for Friday to come.

Thanks for the comments. Keep them coming.

MVP will need a run with the US title first give him that and see how he goes. MVP will win the WHC in his career but not right now.
