Ungrateful

NEWS: |TNAWN| In regards to signing with TNA, Angle had this to say…

“Being with TNA feels like I have finally found my home. I had fun in WWE at certain times, but I was never really happy. Now being a part of TNA, I know I have a purpose. I feel like I am part of history, part of a company that is not only on the rise – not only going to be the number-one watched wrestling show in the world within a short period of time – but TNA gives me an opportunity to spread my wings. This company has no limits to where it can go. The sky is the limit and the main reason is because they brought the “real” back into wrestling and that is a perfect fit for the greatest wrestler in USA Olympic history. I have room to grow here and to help TNA grow. Working for these caring and very giving employers of TNA makes me feel like I have a purpose and that the sky is the limit. I don’t feel trapped or held back like I did the first six years in my tenure with the other company. They held me back. Now, our wonderful audience will see the real Kurt Angle doing what I love to do – real wrestling – and that’s what puts a smile on my face each time I come to work. I even smile when I think about it. TNA will be the most watched television show on cable television. It’s only a matter of time. Now, I get the opportunity and privilege of being a part of it. Thank you TNA for saving my career, my life and my desire to do what I love. I will be here in some capacity for the rest of my life. That’s real…that’s damn real.”

Just because you’re an Olympic Gold Medalist doesn’t mean you’re gonna be pushed to the main event over night. It gets your foot in the door, but you still have to prove yourself. To everyone. I’m not saying that sort of thing doesn’t happen, but I’m saying that other people deserve the spotlight too.

Be grateful to the WWE. You’ve solidified yourself in wrestling history.

He’s got balls give him that much. My guess is he is also getting paid more too.

Angle was never made into the main guy, they always booked him wrongly and he was mega over in those periods. He won but then was pushed down quickly. HHH criticised Angle, can you believe that, what has H done more than Angle.

I can see where Angles coming from, although he does have to thank WWE for winning those World titles. But recently WWE soured on him, like they do with Benoit and hope to turn them into road agents. Then they chuck Cena on.

i think angle made a good choice cause as much as i love wwe, right now wwe seems 2 be a sinking ship, with all those bad storyline. angle leaving wwe for tna is like any of us who have a job, get offered a better one and take it. this gives him a fresh start, he goes from small fish in big pond 2 a big few in a small but groing pond. tnas got 2 of wwe’s top stars angle and christian. they are growing and fast. look at the stars they got like sting, jarret(like him or hate hime he’s a star), raven, samoa joe, bg & kip james(aka new age outlaws), the dudley boys, and kevin nash, and great superstars in the making like aj style, fallen angel,a.m.w, alex shelley, sonjay dutt. what a great line up, once there show hits 2 hour i think wwe will be in trouble, and this time i don’t think vince will buy his way out of it. so who do u think will be next. wcw got very popular after hogan jumped ship, could angle have the same effect

-Ghost- I sure hope so. TNA benefits greatly from Angle’s signing. The press it’ll bring, the credibility, the fans, the ratings, etc etc. Here’s hoping TNA continues to grow.

i hope wwe will soon realize that we need more excitment and i hope they usher in another attitude era.

-matt b- i think they will continue growing, really watching a wwe show is nothing like watching a tna show, except maybe the amount of wrestling(oh wait isn’t tna 1 hour and wwe 2 hours) i think the reason tna hasn’t done all that good on spike is a little on story writing, but alot on the fact they’re only an hour. i find there” not enough time 2 build up stories before ppvs. so alot of story line run 3 or 4 ppvs, or in the case of jarrett vs sting, hasn’t it almost been a year. now that angle(who was basically a wwe franshize wrestle) has jumped, i can see other stars lower on the ladder following suit.i think angle makes tna creditable. there not just a bunch or wwe rejects and wannabe’s anymore they r the real deal, that what happen with wcw. an with angle, love him or hate him, u love him, he is a great amature wrestler(i think tna before lacked that)1 guy that i didn’t mention on my last commrnt was abyss, now this is a big man who can move, i’d love 2 see an abyss vs kane, undertaker, or big show, if any of these three jump ship, it would be a deadly match.back 2 angle, there is no question that this was the first shot, in a war that i think will out do those monday night wars of years past

vince’s theme song may have just bit him in the ass. cause i think he’s got no chance in hell. watch i predict the next wrestler 2 jump will be randy orton

I actually think that Angle will be pushed to the Main Event, and I think TNA would be wasting their time NOT having Kurt Angle heavily involved at the forefront of the promotion. I really don’t see where he is being disrespectful at all to the WWE in his statement either, it sounds like a guy who’s really happy at getting a chance to do something he loves in a less hectic environment, plus he knows that his name will help the company grow, in my opinion more than Jarrett, Sting or any other name that you could dig up from WCW’s past for that matter. With the limited travel schedual and the fact that he can still book other non-TNA events probably without a doubt makes him less trapped as the WWE likes to keep theri people very exclusive.
I think in the long run this will turn out to be better for both the WWE and Angle (and of course TNA).

i laughed at this wwe magazines awards section:

    “Good Riddance Award”

    KURT ANGLE
What’s the best way to re-invent yourself? Walk out at the peak of your career! Worked wonders for Lex Luger and Randy Savage.

I wonder when wwe will stop??

Why should they? He spit in the face of all they have done for him. He was paid VERY well, given many shots, and while he proved he deserved it, he didn’t have to work NEARLY as hard as many others before him did. Did he pay his dues? To be honest, nope. He was given every shot, and proved his worth.

They are right, though. He did do the same thing Savage and Luger did.

i just look at it as hey, now a more deserving guy whos willing to work as hard as he can has the opportunity to get that spot.

I guess WWE was being bitter, but it wouldn’t of been nearly the same thing if Kurt had been more honest about his leaving. Christian isn’t getting buried by them or sworn at. He made it perfectly clear.

  14. on 22 Jan 2007 at 6:32 pmKANE

yea, but look at how wwe was using christian, he wasnt a main eventer.

That’s true, but he was upper midcard for the most part.

Were he to ever return, they could push him better since fans wouldn’t be thinking “CLB”.
