Anorexic Smackdown

NEWS: The Smackdown roster is looking a bit thin these days…

  • Nitro & Melina were “fired” by GM Teddy Long at Judgment Day
  • Mercury is being sent to rehab
  • Benoit is taking time off to heal several injuries
  • The Great Khali was pulled because he is not ready, but may just work house shows
  • JBL left Smackdown after losing to Rey Mysterio
  • Orlando Jordan was released by WWE

Things aren’t looking good for Smackdown, but I’m hoping this can turn into a positive. It’s only a matter of time before Batista comes back to Smackdown. Mysterio will have to drop the title at some point because his knee needs to heal up. And Booker T is in the middle of a push.

But overall, people will need to step up on Smackdown. This can provide some opportunities for younger guys to get more time and may be a good thing. I realllllly hope the Cruiserweights have some sort of role in all of this.

Assuming the people above will be off Smackdown for a while, this will be the time for a lot of change on Smackdown.

I think getting Batista and Angle back are very important. I mean you got Mark Henry who may not have much wrestling talent but can feud and destroy just about anybody. You got Lashley, You can have a Booker T/Batista feud when he comes back, or a Booker T/Boogeyman feud when he comes back. AND ORTON who just needed a good ass kicking from MNGT. I think right now its a combo of injuries and bad story lines. Theres a bunch of superstars they need back asap. Thats why I hope Jeff Hardy can stay clean and come back to the WWE, a Hardy Boyz reunion could spark not only the tag team division but smackdown as a whole.

isn’t the 60 day suspension of Randy Orton should’ve been over by now?

How bout the boogeyman? isn’t his back healed yet?

I guess it’s time for somebody to step up in smackdown, i just hope it aint mark henry coz i want him out already.. When will his contract expire anyway?

About JBL probably moving to Raw, since HHH is gonna be a Face soon, he’ll probably the Top Heel by then? A very big shoe to fill in..

-Zero-Mark Henry renewed his contract with WWE so he’ll be around for alot longer and who could blame him when WWE is having him be the top heel on Smackdown pretty much.

Also JBL has said he wants to feud with Shawn Micheals so it looks like he is going to RAW.

So the great Kali beats undertaker then gets pulled for not being ready? i dont get that???

i think Booker T’s heel is going well but i wanna see Angle as the top face! cant understand why they made him put Henry over cos he’s pants!

as HHH is turning face it will be inevitable that he becomes champ, so what will they do with Cena? make him heel?

also how long do you reckon it will be before Lashley (the next brock lesnar) is top dog?

    Will Brock ever come back?

With Matt most likely leaving for ECW it is going to be slim pickings. I wonder why they let Orlando Jordan go. Granted he needed a better angle, but as a wrestler he was great. If they were going to fire someone Mark Henry would be a great person to let go.

At least they have Lashley, Booker T, Kendrick and London.

Smackdown is looking even thinner now without Kurt Angle.

They have to move someone over from Raw.

yeah it was a surprise that angle was drafted to ECW plus, Chris Benoit is out indefinitely.. If only DX was interpromotional.. people would be urged to watch smackdown.. (man i’m really am a DX mark”

My thought is “Why the hell would they draft Angle?”.
The man is know for technical wrestling. ECW is all about hardcore. ECW would be good for someone like Matt Hardy who is being buried on Smackdown. (While he’s not know for hardcore, his high flying & high risk moves would land him a spot)

    SteelDragon–

I respectfully disagree with you about Kurt Angle. I think he’s a great pick for ECW. While ECW always had the hardcore matches, it also had some great wrestling. Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, Rey Mysterio, etc…I think Kurt Angle fits right in with those guys.

If you were listening Paul said the NEW ECW, its not all about hardcore matches all the time that is one of the reasons he drafted Angle.

Purely on an analytical POV look at these ECW factors:

Firstly most of the ECW wrestlers are broken down now, they just do a rehearsed set of moves. So they are great to bring in for different angles but not full time.

Sci Fi network wants aliens or something like that to appear on ECW, Come on ECW is known for being in your face, not star trek, this is the first signs of commercialness.

Kurt Angle I thought had a serious neck injury and was being advised to retire, get this people on a WWE schedule, how the hell is he going to wrestle an ECW style night in night out. Another thing he just does not fit in ECW as it was for misfits, not somebody who has already done enough and doesnt realise when to stop.

CM Punk is someone who should be used as the main guy he would fit in perfectly not Kurt Angle. By saying he brings credibility, was ECW not credible all the years it ran, it needed Kurt Angle to say it is credible. This is another insult to ECW.

Why did Vince just not leave ECW for one night stands.

ECW at its peak was not pulling in the ratings, so how can it work now, unless it becomes a sports entertainment style that has more spots. ECW can only do what it wants on PPV and not on TV networks. This is why it willnot work once again.

Think about this if ECW fails once again, its legendary status will dissapear, as last time it went under for financial reasons. This time it will go down, for just going down. This will be a WCW style ending and there wont even be one night stands any more.

I bet you that most people jumping on ECW bandwagon now, havent even watched it once and are just wwe led sheep.

    Answer back people………..
