Styles Kicked to the Curb (supposedly)

RUMOR: |PWInsider| Jim Ross will return tonight at Backlash. He will replace Joey Styles as the lead announcer of the PPV and will also return to RAW. Styles is expected to return to ECW once it restarts. Ross however was removed from the announce team last year. He then returned to do color commentary at Saturday Night’s Main Event and WrestleMania 22. JR’s return as lead RAW announcer is expected to be permanent (for the time being).

May 1st, 2006: Styles “quits” RAW allowing JR to return and setting up Styles’ return to ECW

Well that’s one question finally answered regarding ECW: “Who’s gonna announce?” And now we know, Joey Styles. You really can’t restart ECW without Joey Styles anyway. But I wasn’t expecting JR to come back. Looks like everything works out in the end…Styles announces for ECW, JR announces for RAW and Norman Smiley is out of TNA.

    Styles is on the preshow, so I’m guessing he will still be on the team with Ross and Lawler tonight?

    That’s why I filed this under “Rumors” because I wanna see how this plays out. I have no idea what’s going on with the announce team.

    i think it’s because joey is currently doing heat along with ECW.
    so they give J.R. his regular job back.
