NEWS: |WWE|After more than a decade, Saturday Night’s Main Event is finally returning. Here’s the line up…

  • HHH & John Cena vs Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle & Randy Orton.
  • HBK vs Shane McMahon in a Street Fight.
  • Boogeyman vs Booker T.
  • JBL vs Stone Cold Steve Austin in a Beer Drinking Contest.
  • Trish Stratus & Mickie James vs Candice & Victoria
  • The return of The Cutting Edge with special guest Mick Foley.

    • Saturday Night’s Main Event airs tonight at 8PM EST on NBC.

    Matt–

    What’s your take on tonight’s show? If you ask me, the card is a little weak. I’m looking forward to the HBK/Shane match, but otherwise…eh.

    I know Stone Cold is being brought in for ratings, but will that be enough? Hopefully WWE will have some surprises up their sleeve.

    -Lex- Even though you don’t mean me, I will answer anyway.

    I think that this is a good move for the WWE. It gives us all something to watch on Saturday nights. Even if the lineup is weak, I really can’t wait to see the street fight, either. The Edge and Foley segment should prove to be entertaining.

    One of the most important points to note is that this will not be a regular show, like RAW or Smackdown! which will make it a sought after respite from the stupid-ass programming normally found on a Saturday night.

    -Lex- Sorry for the late response, but the card could have been better. You would think WWE would having special planned since they’re on NBC and WrestleMania is around the corner. The Foley/Edge match just got pushed to another level.

    -Anybody- Why couldn’t Smackdown win!!!!!????? I cannot stand that RAW is always put in the spotlight every single time. Why does Smackdown always have to come out the losers!? I understand RAW is the premiere show and Cena/HHH is probably (depends on your opinion) the bigger main event, but seriously, Smackdown deserves to be in the spotlight too.

    -Pete- I believe that was Stone Cold’s way of trying to joke around with JBL, although I can’t be too sure. It didn’t look serious, with JBL getting up a moment after that took place.

    -Matt B- You already know the answer to this question. Smackdown! is and has been the second rate show of the WWE since its inception way back when there was a wrestler named “The Rock” who still wore dress clothes and gold chains to his promos. If WWE cared about Smackdown! the way they cared about the flagship show, RAW, then they (Smackdown!) would be the victors of more inter-promotional matches.

    Off topic, I am very glad to see and hear JR back as an announcer, though I hope that they keep Joey Styles. If all of the accounts are true, he’s back for now, but Joey is staying, as well he should. JR needs to be on the air somehow. I have really adjusted to his commentating style since he and the King have been calling matches for so long. I almost felt a bit bad for Taz, not having much to say tonight. I think it went well and I genuinely hope that it will bring more people into watching what we all on here know to be a worthwhile form of entertainment.

    Yea, I already know the answer. Just wish things would change a bit.

    I’m pretty sure Joey Styles will stay as RAW’s announcer. Even JR said his days on RAW are over.
