NEWS: |WWE| The 2006 Royal Rumble is tomorrow night…
- Open Invitational match for the Cruiserweight Title
- Mickie James versus Ashley with Trish Stratus as Special Guest Referee
- Boogeyman versus JBL
- Kurt Angle(c) versus Mark Henry for the Heavyweight Title
- Edge(c) versus John Cena for the WWE Championship
- The Royal Rumble comprised of 15 Superstars from Smackdown and 15 Superstars from RAW
Since I haven’t seen Smackdown in a while I’m not going to comment on JBL/Boogeyman. But something tells me this match was rushed. Correct me if I’m wrong.
It’s been rumored that Trish might turn heel. Maybe she’ll turn on Ashley to give Mickie the win?
The cruiserweight match was added recently. Kash should take advantage of this opportunity and put on the best match possible.
It goes without saying that Angle will stay the champ.
Edge losing the title to Cena would be a more traditional way to go. But I think that’s also the least creative and boring way to do it. I hope Edge wins. I want him to drop the title at WrestleMania. Keeping Edge champ will make things more interesting. And if you give it back to Cena, half the fans will end up booing him and the other half will cheer him. Think of how that would affect the WrestleMania match.
And my favorite, the Royal Rumble. I absolutely love it. RVD will return, but not win. But it’ll be nice to see him. Royal Rumble sets the stage for a lot of change in terms of main event players and future storylines which is one thing I love about the Rumble. Most likely a RAW superstar will win, but I would rather have a Smackdown star win just to put some of the spotlight on their show for once.

I think you’re wrong. This week on SD, they made worms fall from the sky. That didn’t look rushed.
Damn’t I wish I saw that. So Boogeyman/JBL has been building up for weeks?
It has been building up for a while. It may seem rushed, but that’s because they had to do a lot of rushing with Batista out for surgery. Boogeyman’s career is starting off a lot like kevin nash’s, they were both brought in for the story, not their wrestling ability.
Trish going heel at this point would make things really dumb, especially since she and mickie have been at odds lately.
I think that giving the title to Mark Henry would make his last six months more interesting, but he only has six months left. He hasn’t been more than a footnote over his last 9.5 years and will most likely continue to be a mid card filler after this match is done.
The cruiserweight match is thrown together. That feels a bit rushed. I am really having a hard time buying the importance of the cruiserweight title when it gets so little air time during smackdown.
The Edge v. Cena match will be good but I believe that you are right, Edge will keep the title through to Mania. At that time, he will lose to HHH or, in a stupid twist, Chris Masters.
RVD’s return IS the most highly anticipated of the last few months but, will they screw it up and put him on the backburner? I think so…
Onward to the RUMBLUS!!!
-MattDaddy- Yea, Trish going heel would seem a bit odd right now. Especially since the baby face divas are running low right now.
I think Smackdown needs a strong champion to lead the show and that man is Kurt Angle. Mark Henry’s days are numbered and they’re just going to use him as a punching bag.
Boogeyman is interesting character, he’s way out there which is why I like him. But you’re right, as of now Boogeyman is known as a character and not a wrestler.
Sounds like its going to be Christian vs. Jarret for the title at the next tna ppv. What are the chances Jarret will give Christian the title for more then a month or two?
-Nathaniel- Jarrett really needs to drop the title. If TNA/SpikeTV wanna expand their fan base and draw in more casual wrestling fans, then having the belt on Jarrett isn’t a good idea. Many fans will remember Jarrett from his WWF/WCW days and probably see TNA as a last ditch effort for all those wrestlers “who couldn’t make it” in the big leagues. They should put the title on someone else. Sting or Christian, I don’t care. They should properly build up the angle and then have Jarrett drop it. For the sake of TNA, drop the title Jarrett.
From the sky I tells ya!
Haha, JBL’s face is priceless
