RUMOR: |TNAWrestlingNews| It’s being reported that TNA’s newest wrestler is not Christian. Based on second and third party sources, Christian’s wife has shot down the rumor saying that Christian is not going to TNA. The real wrestler who is debuting this Sunday may be Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Bret Hart or possibly someone else. Just remember this is a rumor.
As a huge fan of Christian, I hope he is debuting with TNA this Sunday. But I’ve been saying all along, something in Christian’s last WWE interview threw me off. He said that he hopes no one forgets about him. And I still pose the question, why would we forget about Christian if he’s going to TNA? Maybe it was a plan so that WWE wouldn’t know what’s going on. Anything is possible.
But lemme tell you the truth. Don’t you find it odd that all these rumors saying Christian isn’t going to TNA comes up now? I mean it’s only a few days away from his supposed debut. Well my friends, the real culprit is none other than Bill Goldberg. Yes, Bill Goldberg. You see, Goldberg is jealous of all the press Christian is getting so he started a rumor stating that Christian wasn’t TNA’s newest wrestler, he is. Goldberg…just give it up will ya? You’re pathetic and no one wants you.

As Bret Hart is currently associated with WWE promoting his DVD, he wouldn’t be appearing on a TNA PPV. TNA would be foolish to sign him anyway considering he can’t wrestle anymore. Lesnar is now IWGP champion. It’s hard to imagine TNA offering the kind of money that Goldberg would demand, either.
Christian’s exit interview isn’t that odd considering WWE basically considers TNA a nonentity, therefore even with Christian appearing on a TNA PPV he’d be gone from wrestling from the point of view of most WWE fans – particularly since he seems to be planning to transition out of wrestling entirely soon in favor of acting, just as The Rock – the man he’s been modelling his career after for the last few years – has done.
Unfortunately, I can’t really see what TNA is going to do with Christian. I assume they’ll stick him in the title picture just as they did with Rhyno, but since Jarrett is not going to let anyone else hold the title belt for any meaningful amount of time, that’s a dead end. Plus, every time TNA brings over a WWE midcarder and puts them in main events (Rhyno, Raven, D’lo Brown, presumably Christian next), it further solidifies their image as the minor leagues of professional wrestling.
I fear Christian, after his obligitory handful of title matches against Jarrett, will end up in a nostalgia act situation with Jeff Hardy and the Dudleys, trying to recapture the spark they had a half decade ago.
I would be surprised to see Goldberg or Hart in TNA right now too. I’m still leaning towards Christian, but who knows.
Christian going to TNA can’t hurt the company, but they’re not the minor leagues anymore. Their TV deal makes them a serious contender, but they’re not #2 right now. TNA playing is smart by building up new faces at the same time. They could take any former WWE wrestler but don’t. An example is Test. Test may or may not be in TNA in the future, but they didn’t just sign him up and throw him on TV.
But back to the “mystery” wrestler, we’ll find out soon enough.
True, they didn’t sign Test. But they did sign Billy Gunn, Randy Savage, and Kevin Nash – none of whom offer anything except the fact that they made their names in WWF/E.
And while I don’t consider TNA to be a minor league promotion, they do APPEAR to be one when they immediately put guys like Rhyno in the title picture without any buildup.
Yea Savage was a mistake. I’ll just assume TNA was desperate.
Rhino/Jarrett had no build up, but I guess that’s the best they could do since Nash dropped out. But Rhino could have been replaced by Raven. I’m not sure why they didn’t do that. Rhino shouldn’t have had the title. It was dumb because he lost it on TV to Jarrett so it felt like a waste of time.
matt b. goldberg went on a very large winning streak in WWE. He won 180 matches in a row. So where so you get off saying he sucks. Goldberg is a former world hevyweight champion. i dont think you will ever get close to accomplishing that much. Goldberg has been in many major films latly, including “The Longest yard” “transporter 2″ and “Santa’s Slay”. so if you think that goldberg really sucks, just think about all he has done cmopared to you. so just shut up and dont talk about anyone that way. It’s wrong.
No he didn’t. Even his phony “winning streak” in WCW wasn’t 180 matches.
His character is largely a ripoff of Nikita Koloff and Steve Austin, and he can barely wrestle a competent match without being carried by a superior opponent. Also, he’s a mark for his own gimmick. In short, he sucks. WWE should never have hired him.
The only decent thing Goldberg ever did was get his ass kicked by Chris Jericho backstage once.
